Generosity of Mothers

Generosity of mothers

Mothers put their children first, that I know by experience. My mother made abundant sacrifices so that her seven girls could have a better life, and was always there for us when we needed her.  I am sure most of the people could be able to share similar experiences.

As soon as a woman is pregnant she needs to select carefully what she eats so that she can help her child to develop; and she even needs to take care on whatever she does in order not to damage the baby.  It then becomes necessary to avoid alcohol or any other substance that may damage the new life, instead she needs to take vitamins and follow doctor’s recommendations.  Women know very well that her decisions will affect an innocent that depends on her.

I have seen many congratulations on this mother’s day, and most of them reflect a highly appreciation of sons and daughters for their mother’s sacrifices and their examples. We all thank our mothers for our life.

These past days we have seen on the internet a disgrace. A 25 year old woman got pregnant, as a consequence as she admitted, of doing nothing to prevent pregnancy. After that, the woman that works as a counselor of Planned Parenthood took two important decisions.

First she said it was not the right moment to become a mother and choose abortion. Second, she videotaped her own abortion process to “help” other women, and she put the video on the internet.

It is opened the question if this woman that says was before an actress, which nobody knows, made those actions to advance on the profession where she wants to break into. It is not a matter of generosity; it is the very frequent “me” syndrome in the society.

I never expected that a magazine known so far for its good taste, as Cosmopolitan, would give space on its pages for such a disgrace.

I just want to thank all their mothers for their good work and generosity. I thank the Lord for giving us the gift of being the carriers of life.
